Continuing my journey with semi-stylized rendering, I returned to UE5 this time. I focused on achieving painted effects on rigged characters and put in my best effort to refine the results. After many tutorials and much trial and error, I chose the painting normal method. Surprisingly, none of the tutorials online mentioned you can't directly use object normals on rigged characters. I also tried rendering outlines in UE5, but solid ones didn't fit the style, and transparent ones are too expensive to render for game characters. So, no outlines for now.
