Animated train scene in Blender

Train scenes are my absolute favorite in anime films, and I finally got to build my own version! I started by building the train in Blender, then posed the character using Cascadeur. The auto-posing feature in Cascadeur made things so much faster and gave me a great starting point. But I spent way too long trying to get the animation back into Blender. I wish there were just a simple plugin or a one-button import export between the two. After that, I used an Array modifier to build the scenery outside the window. The trick is to separate the near-ground, mid-ground, and far-ground elements and move them at different speeds. This parallax effect does an amazing job of faking the train’s motion. And this is how it turned out. Follow me for part 2, where I’ll animate the main characters.
